Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh): A heartfelt farewell was given to outgoing District Magistrate Shiv Sahay Awasthi at a ceremony held in the Vikas Bhavan auditorium in Pratapgarh, marking the end of his tenure of over a year in the district.
Awasthi, who assumed charge on January 18, 2025, has now been transferred as Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Road Development Authority. The farewell event was attended by senior officials, staff, entrepreneurs, traders, members of civil society groups, and journalists, all of whom honoured him with bouquets and mementos.
A Popular Administrator
During his tenure, Awasthi earned a reputation for his proactive work style and people-centric governance. Addressing the gathering, he said that his time in Pratapgarh would remain memorable and credited the success of his administration to the collective efforts of officers and staff.
“Achievements in administration are possible only through teamwork. Your work defines your identity,” he said, encouraging officials to continue striving to meet expectations and work in coordination.
Emphasis on Teamwork and Public Service
The outgoing DM highlighted the importance of prioritising public welfare in line with government objectives. He also praised the cooperation he received from various departments, noting that it played a crucial role in maintaining efficiency and transparency in governance.
Referring to Pratapgarh’s reputation for communal harmony, Awasthi described his posting in the district as a privilege and a valuable experience.
Officials Laud His Leadership
Chief Development Officer Divya Mishra appreciated Awasthi’s leadership and assured that the administration would continue to build on his developmental vision.
Several other officials, including the Additional Superintendent of Police, Project Director DRDA, District Development Officer, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Circle Officers, and Block Development Officers, also shared their experiences and praised his administrative approach.
A Moving Send-Off
The ceremony turned emotional as Awasthi thanked colleagues for their support and acknowledged that transfers are an integral part of government service. He urged all officials to remain committed to public welfare and continue working with dedication.
